| What is ECAMCHAM? |
|
The ECAMCHAM was incorporated as a non-profit organization in July 2001 by
members of the private sector either representing or affiliated with U.S.business and
investment interests or servicing U.S. clientel in eight countries of the Eastern Caribbean:
Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat,
St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Firms and business executives may wish to join the ECAmCham for different reasons. Many join to enhance community goodwill, without concern for immediate benefit to themselves.Others join for the services and benefits they may expect, which vary according to their requirements. As a member of the Chamber of Commerce of the United States, for example, the ECAmCham benefits from services and privileges adhering to National Chamber membership. Most companies will join the ECAmCham for the same reason they join local chambers of commerce -- to meet people, make business contacts and exchange information useful to their business. In addition, American concerns wishing to do business in the region often need special assistance where the laws, regulations, and customs may be unfamiliar. |
